The book was a great comprehensive guide for someone who speaks Spanish but was looking to learn Spanish specifically for medical interpretation. Not only did it cover vocabulary but also the cultural implications of interpreting for Spanish speakers. The only problem I had with it was that the online flashcards that the book offers have major formatting problems - it seems like the vocabulary from the book was ported in without being checked, as many had multiple unrelated words on the same card and occasionally the wrong definition on the other.

I have tried several books for medical Spanish, and this is the best. The electronic flashcards and the audio dialogs are very helpful. I especially like Dr. Rios' friendly tone as she reads through the dialogs. Her explanations of grammar and pronunciation are excellent She also offers intensive immersion courses, but unfortunately, none in the New York area. Like any language program,

If you are an intermediate spanish speaker working in healthcare, LOOK NO FURTHER! this book is the best of the best and you'll wonder how you ever got by without it. The book provides a lot of accurate, culture expressions and behaviors you'll actually see/ hear in real life. Example- what last name do you use? How do you explain x,y,z... It takes you through a variety of life settings, dialogues, and throughout reinforces grammar practice. Super simple and straight forward. Even if you're a very beginner speaking spanish, this will help you avoid sounding like a foreigner google translate robot.

Not even half way through the book and love if!! Very Informative and the format is very easy to follow! I am already at an intermediate Spanish speaking level and this is a great refresher without being too repetitive. I feel like I would also love it if I was a beginner as well. The Spanish dialogues and vocabulary are spot on for the hospital setting! I love that it has exercises that you can write in the answers! Reading alone can get boring really fast. Plus, writing is a great way to learn! I can’t wait to see what more this book will have to offer as I continue reading!

Bought this for a class. Would be great for self study; can't beat the price!

In the Kindle Version of the book you cannot see lesson vocabulary, because the font is too small and zoom function cannot enlarge it enough. I guess best solution is to get a paper version.

very user friendly and starts on a very beginner level

This is a fantastic book.Imagine taking Spanish in high school, but through the context of health care. It has it all and sequences how you likely sequenced Spanish in HS.
