Good concept and well done. Only one big problem with a book like this. With a computer rv park review site, you can enter where you need to stay and all openings in that area are listed. Then you make your reservation. With this book, all these places are in small towns that are hard to find on a map. If you want to plan a trip, you look for a place near a spot on a map. The book lists in alphabetical order places you never heard of and likely will take quite a while to locate on a map. They are listed by state only (big search area), not organized by county or other smaller geographic locator. How are you supposed to use this book? And do any of these places accept reservations? Things are crowded now and you must reserve a place before you leave home.

Doesn't have point locations on the maps for the campgrounds nor does it give any contact info.

I was hoping this would be what it claimed to be: the definitive guide to free/cheap camping. I’m actually very new at camping, but found inaccurate information (sites that were claimed to be free, but weren’t, and free sites not in the book). Would return if I could.

Was just another camping with corps of engineers campground guide with state parks added.

This book has an alphabetical listing of cities in a State that have free or almost free overnight camping, listing if sites have water, electric, and/or sewer hook-ups, including the cost per night. This can be a real money-saver compared to commercial campgrounds.

This is a must have for the newbie camper. Great sites for free "yes free campsites" to camp and other sites all under $20 - really! Campsites all over the United States.
